New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg is back with an all new second-chance, standalone hockey romance.

At first, the request seemed simple—sign a new athlete to the agency.

Then I found out the new athlete was none other than the most wanted man in hockey today: Hunter Maddox

Gifted. Sexy. At the top of his game. And the only man who has ever broken my heart.

If signing him will help save our family business, I’ll swallow my pride and do what’s asked.

But when it becomes clear his uncharacteristic antics off the ice are a hint of something deeper, keeping things strictly professional between us becomes more than complicated. But I know better than to cross that line.

I’ll never date a client. Not even for him.
***
Win the Stanley Cup and do it before time runs out.

Not a small feat, but it’s what’s motivated me since the start of my career.

And time is running out.

Enter Dekker Kincade.

Feisty. Dogged. Damn gorgeous. The one I let get away.

I have no idea why she’s traveling with the team, but hell if resisting her is going to be easy.

But I have a job to do, and I refuse to lose sight of that end game. Even if she confuses me. Even if she sees parts of me I’ve hidden from the world.

I can’t lose focus. Not even for her.

I am hooked on this series! This is the first book and I hope that we get the rest of the sisters – and find out what is going on with their dad! After some childhood trauma, Dekker has a strained relationship with her sisters and she shies away from ever getting close to a guy. The one she got closest to was Hunter a few years ago and she ended things as soon as she figured it out. Hunter has a lot on his plate, and a lot of guilt from his childhood and has been living in the shadow of his twin his whole life. When someone starts taking business from the company, Dekker’s dad gives her the task of getting some clients back from their competition – Hunter. Throughout attempting to start a discussion about why she’s traveling with the team, Dekker and Hunter end up falling for each other even though the feelings never really left, and they also help each other to work through what happened to each other in childhood. My heart literally broke for Hunter and his brother and what happened to them, and even more so for Hunter because of the guilt he felt and how he lived his life for his brother. I was so glad that Dekker and Hunter ended up with each other and the suspense of it got me hooked! I cannot wait for this author to continue this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I love a good hockey romance & second chance romance. So, the fact that K. Bromberg released a hockey romance AND a second chance romance, it was a no brainer for me. I one clicked based off of the title. Dekker & Hunter are two of my favorite characters to date. Hunter is all man. He's full of arrogance and you see that right off the bat. Dekker is this feisty, spitfire who had her heartbroken but is doing something her dad asked of her. There is some serious sexual tension with these two and a history that you're dying to learn more about. Their journey they take together is one of my favorite to date by the author.

From one page to the next I fell more in love with Dekker and Hunter! The dedication Kristy has to developing her characters and their relationships is truly unmatched. Not just the romantic relationship, but familial relationships as well! I cannot wait for the next one and see how the sisters evolve through out this series. This book truly captures how life can take so much away from you, but in time give you back more than you ever expected!

“No one likes a player who’s hard to handle...” more than THIS reader and Dekker Kincade! The tale of Hunter “Mad Dog” Maddox and Dekker “the pecker wrecker” kept me emotionally attached until the very last “letter.” The book is full of great characters whom I can’t wait to meet in other stories (the Kincade Sports Management sisters!!) and—sweet Jesus—makes allusions to other Bromberg characters (Colton Donavan, for one) so that I was reminded again, as with each Bromberg book, why I live in KB world! #writekristywrite #vppitcrew

Hard to Handle was a book I couldn’t put down once the work week was done and I had the chance to really sit down with it. I planned to read a few chapters and savor it, but you know how that goes. A few chapters turns into finishing at 1:47 a.m. with no regrets. I don’t have a ton of experience with sports romances, with the exception of Kristy’s The Player and The Catch, but I love that Kristy included a lot of hockey details because it made the story feel more real. The slow buildup between Dekker and Hunter felt authentic and not rushed. It’s a read that had me in tears in some moments and giggly-smiling at others. All in all it was a must read for me and I’m looking forward to each sisters book.

    K. Bromberg brings this enemies to lovers, second chance sports romance story to life! Hard to Handle is the story of Hunter and Dekker, a sports agent and a professional hockey player, who have a past. There is so much amazing chemistry between the two of them along with a strong, yet emotional storyline, especially between Hunter and his brother! This story had all the feels and I really enjoyed it!

Hard to Handle is the newest novel by K. Bromberg and it’s a winner. This hockey romance is the story of Hunter, a hockey player, a broken man, and Decker, who works for his team. They have a past. But can they have a future? In true K. Bromberg fashion, Hard to Handle packed a punch. The story was more than I thought it would be. The angst. Oh the angst. It was so emotional and heartbreaking at times. It was also a story of healing and hope. Mixed in was fantastic dialogue and banter with real relatable characters. A story that will pull at your heart and also make you laugh, Hard to Handle is a must read. I can’t wait for the other stand-alones in this series. An arc was provided for an honest review.

Hunter Maddox is captain of his pro hockey team but he certainly hasn’t been acting like it recently. Family issues have him angry and confused. Dekker Kincade is a hotshot athlete agent trying to build up her family’s portfolio. Her father asks her to recruit the one man she can’t bear to desire again. The history between Hunter & Dekker is red hot but when your heart starts to get involved (again) it gets dangerous. How can she recruit him for their agency while keeping an safe distance? How can he ignore the fact that she’s always around even though she claims she not back for another romp in the sack? How can she fix his broken when he won’t open up to her because that would involve feelings? Without giving too much away, there were some hot moments but there were so many tears. Hunter is way more complicated than he seems and Dekker has a softer side that she likes to keep hidden to remain professional. But when these two collide there’s bound to be sparks. I love the depth of these characters. I felt the disappointment, guilt, and pain right along with them. This was a very multi-dimensional storyline and it was so well done. I think with any sport themed story you’ll find that the actual sport is just there for the background but it was incorporated into the storyline so well I’m glad you chose that sport for this. GOAL!

I have a lingering headache that won’t go away because of this story, but I have no regrets! I loved it. Dekker and Hunter take you on a roller coaster that will have your emotions all over the place. Some parts had me crying hard. My heart constantly clenched. It was angsty, heartbreaking, beautiful, and I loved it. I won't get into the plot, as it needs to be experienced, but make sure to have a case cover for your kindle (you'll need it) in case you want to throw it because there were times I wanted to slap some sense into them. Lol. Don't forget the tissues for this amazing story of second chances, forgiveness, and selflessness. You're going to need them! You get that slow burn goodness with heart clenching moments that K. Bromberg knows how to deliver. I cannot wait for the rest of the Kincade sisters to get their own books!
